Apple’s New iPhone 7

Apple’s New iPhone 7

Now that Apple has taken the wraps off the iPhone 7, the question on everyone’s minds is: Is it worth buying? Should you sell your older device and anti-up for a new phone that does not have the standard audio jack. Or, by extension, is it an innovative product worthy of all the attention it’s getting?

They are calling this move, one of courage. They felt they needed to make an industry standard change and seemed quite confident that their wireless Bluetooth headphones labelled AirPods, that they are selling separate for $220.00 will be worth the change. That said, they will still bundle in with the new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus a pair of Lightning connected EarPods and a dongle that will let you still use your old 3.5 mm headphones. Though if you decide to still wire your headphones you might not be able to charge your device at the same time since it will have to connect to the lightning connector creating a complex set of problems for consumers. So, something to consider if you are on the fence deciding on whether you want to upgrade or not.

So, it is now water resistant and dustproof. It more durable and has a much better camera. Especially the iPhone 7 Plus, it will have multiple cameras giving you better ability to zoom and take photos in low light. It will also have a redesigned Home button, faster processor, water resistant, and scraps not only the headphone jack but the 16GB model. Both new smartphones are available in 32GB, 128GB, 256GB variations, with colours Rose Gold, Gold, Silver, Black, and a shiny new Jet Black. However, Jet Black enthusiasts can only purchase the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in 128GB or 256GB. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus utilize Apple’s most powerful processor ever — the A10 Fusion. It’s a 64-bit quad-core processor that’s 40 percent faster than the A9 in the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Apple says it’s 120 times faster than the original iPhone. They are also claiming that the battery is also the best ever compared to previous iPhones. The Cupertino company says the new iPhone 7 will last 2 hours more than the iPhone 6S, and the iPhone 7 Plus will add an additional hour over the iPhone 6S Plus.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus can be purchased unlocked directly from Apple’s online store, or from participating Canadian carriers. So, the Canadian No-Term Pricing will range from:

Phone 7 (Unlocked through Apple):
32GB: $899
128GB: $1,029
256GB: $1,159

Depending on the size

iPhone 7 Plus (Unlocked through Apple):
32GB: $1,049
128GB: $1,179
256GB: $1,309

And then the 2-year contract pricing will vary depending on the carrier. If you haven’t gotten an email from your Carrier yet then I’d suggest contacting them to see if your eligible for an upgrade Apple’s latest smartphones can now be pre-ordered in Canada and pre-orders have already begun with both new iPhones officially launching in Canada on September 16th.

I’m happy enough with my 64 gigabytes iphone 6 handed down to me from my father so I’m going to wait to see how this new phone works out after all the dust has settled and people have had a chance to use it without the beloved headphone jack
